Week 79: Tier II Worthy

Hey y'all! I hope each of you had a good week this week. This week was bumpy in a lot of cases, but on the bright side of things me and Elder Rich hit our 18 month mark! It's crazy how much time has blown by! But let's jump right into the week!

Monday was a decent day. As y'all know I had technology issues(I'm sorry😅) and all of that but now it's fixed, I'll explain more into this week. Then after P-Day we finished our Weekly Planning because we didn't get to finish all of it during last week. And then I had Call-Ins with Starkville!

Tuesday we had District Council here in West Point, and we had a really good discussion about a few things. Afterwards we came back and had Lunch. We tried visiting a few people but most of them during that round fell through which sucked. Then we came back and finished our studies. After that we went to CVS and saw someone we were teaching and talked with her for a little bit. Then we went to go see someone else and had a really cool discussion with her! She found a few things that stood out to her while she was reading the Book of Mormon and she's excited to get back meeting with us again(she was the one we saw Sunday of last week's email). Then we got dinner from a member and it pretty much lasted us the entire week, it was super good.

Wednesday was our bike day because Thursday was going to rain. We had a lesson that fell through in the morning and then we came back and finished everything else. We biked down to the Animal Shelter and helped out there for a while and that was good. Then we came back and went to the Library and did some Family History which was pretty good. Afterwards we saw Betsy for a little bit and then we went to try and see a few people which fell through sadly but we saw John and talked with him for a little bit. Then afterwards we came back and ended the day.

Thursday is where the title comes in. I had contact with Church HQ throughout the week and apparently their Tier 1 people couldn't fix it for me, so I was worthy enough to enter into Tier II and they pretty much had me do something I know some missionaries would LOVE to do.. Which was to uninstall MaaS360(our app that controls what we can download and such). I had to reinstall it of course and it fixed my issue but it was just weird seeing YouTube on my phone for like 5 seconds. After all of that we had a lot of contact attempts and had a pretty good lesson with someone who works at one of the grocery stores here in town. But a lot of the other contacts either were short or fell through. And after all of that we came back in for the night.

Friday we started off the day with me having a ZLC Call and then doing service at the Food Pantry. After which we then we had lunch and took care of Boozey because Neely wanted us to take care of him for the weekend. Then we had contact with someone and then we did our Weekly Planning Session and got a lot of things done there. After that we contacted a few people and talked with John for a little bit and then came home.

Saturday was our 18 Month Mark!! And it was a very interesting day. We did our studies and got things ready for the day. Before leaving for Tupelo, we went and fed Boozey which was good. Then we drove up to Tupelo and picked up the Hamilton Elders and one other Elder from a dealership as they were getting their oil change. We drove to the Church and got things ready for the Broadcast with Elder Stanfill of the Seventy who was in Little Rock. We had a lot of technical issues but we were able to watch most of it which was good. We had to leave a little early to bring the Hamilton Elders back to ge their car. But we came back and locked things up because we had the key, and we dropped it back off at the Elders apartment. We drove back, got each of us a Staffords Milkshake to celebrate 18 months, and that was good! And we were at the Church for a little doing some Correlation Reporting and then we came home for the night!

Sunday we attended Branch Council and sadly no one we were teaching was at Church today, which sucked. Then after Church we had Correlation Meeting and we then came home and had Lunch. We did our studies and all of that and we tried visiting a few people and didn't have too much success in that. Afterwards we came back and finished other things we had to do and had Call Ins with Tupelo.

It was a bumpy week overall, but had some good experiences. I am reminded of something that I have to strive to live, which is Joshua 1:9, "Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest." As we strive to rely in the Lord in all things, it will all be ok in the end. It's hard to swallow that pill at times, but it will be ok, one way or the other. I love y'all and I hope each of you have a great week.

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 78: Technology Issues and Busy Week

Hello one and all! I apologize for those who emailed me today, I am having Technology issues regarding my email, I can't seem to access it on my phone. So I apologize! Hopefully I can get ahold of Church HQ tomorrow to see if they can fix it! But anyways, let's get into the week!

Monday after P-Day we went out and tried to visit people but everything fell through sadly. So we came back to the apartment, did a few things then I had Call Ins with the Starkville Sisters!

Tuesday we had Zone Conference up in Smithville, Mississippi and that was a really good Conference. We talked a lot about how we can best help the mission move forward and talked about being bold too. It was awesome. Then afterwards we drove back to West Point and met the Brown Family at Staffords where we had dinner at! It was a really good day.

Wednesday we did our normal studies and got things ready for the day. We went to the Church to figure things out, and during that our phones decided to get messed up by MaaS360(an app that the Church helps allow us to download certain things). So we weren't able to get in most of our apps for most of the day. Then afterwards we stopped by Betsy where we chatted with her for a while and invited her to Church. Then we had a lesson that fell through so we rescheduled a time and then we did a few things at Wal-Mart that we had to get. Then afterwards we got some things ready(and thankfully our phones got fixed..for the most part) and then we had dinner with a family from the Airbase at La Fiesta Brava, which is a good mexican place here in West Point. Then afterwards we were supposed to have some lessons but it fell through so then we went to someone's house and had a good visit with him and read The Family: A Proclamation to The World(if you haven't read it recently, I suggest you do) and that was really good. Afterwards we came in for the night and finished a few things.

Thursday we biked for the first time in a long while haha. We did our studies and got things ready as usual. I also fixed up some of my other problems that follow the whole MaaS thing and turns out my email on my phone didn't want to sync so that was great. Then we went out and visited a good bit of people. Some things fell through but we had some good conversations with those we did see. We helped someone out with their technology again, checked up and saw how someone was doing, and then saw someone at CVS, where we also found another person through that. So we were happy about that. Then we biked back and did a few other things and then we saw 2 other people with brief contacts and then we came home and had dinner. It was nice to be on the bike again.

Friday we started off in the morning with exchanges with our Zone Leaders and I went with Elder Daniels in Tupelo, we started off the day by getting a call to the Tupelo Hospital to give a blessing to a member in New Albany. So we went and did that and that was good. Afterwards we drove to the apartment and started studying and planning. Then we had lunch at Dairy Queen and then visited people. We found a person during the process and we had a good day overall. Then in the evening we visited a ministering family and we had a good visit there. Then after we came home and finished off the day there.

Saturday we finished exchanges and we drove back to West Point. I had my ZLC Call and we got some things ready. Then we drove up to Aberdeen and had lunch with the Nickersons and we visited a few people with Brother Nickerson which was really good. Then afterwards we did a few things in Aberdeen and then we drove all the way to Houlka and had a lesson with someone which was good. Then we drove back to West Point and ended the day.

Sunday we sadly didn't have anyone at Church. But we had a Potluck after which was pretty good. And then we typed out a few things to send to the Elders Quorum. And then we came back and then had a good visit with someone we met a few weeks ago. She met with missionaries for a long time in the past and almost got baptized, so we have a lot of potential with her. Then we came back and did Weekly Planning before Call Ins. After that we had dinner and ended the day with a big headache..which sucked.

It was a good week overall. We got a lot of things done and was busy the entire week. I am grateful for the time that I had to work and learn. It's hard sometimes.. it really is. But it'll be worth it. It will. I hope y'all have a wonderful week!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 77: Bad Storm and Falling Lessons

Hello one and all! I hope y'all had a good week! This week we sadly had a lot of things fall through and we had a glorious storm come through. But I am alive. So yea. Let's get into the week shall we?

Monday we did our fun P-Day good old stuff and then afterwards we went and visited a less active Family and we had a pretty good discussion with them. They're super nice. Then we had to go and we came home and had Call-Ins with the Sisters.

Tuesday we did our studies and got things ready for the day. And then we went to the Animal Shelter and did service there for a little bit. Afterwards we came back home and got gas and other things done. Then Brother Lenahan picked us up and we drove an hour to a lesson in Houlka, MS. We had a really cool Restoration Lesson and it was awesome talking with him and his wife. They are super cool. We set up another time and then we had another hour drive back and then we had dinner.

Wednesday we were able to do our studies and got things ready for the day. We started off by visiting a less-active member for a little bit and that was pretty good. Afterwards we did a few things and then we saw Betsy and talked with her for a little bit. We talked about the Atonement and helped out in any way we could. Then we had a lesson that happened but didn't at the same time. Then we reported on a few things and then came back, did other things and Daily Contacting. After that we got stuff ready and we went and had a lesson with Miesha and talked with her about a few things. She is moving, but thankfully it'll be in the area still. After that we came home and ended the day.

Thursday we had District Council with the Zone Leaders and the STL's in Starkville, and that was pretty good overall. Then after District Council we drove back to West Point with the Zone Leaders and we ate at Staffords and that was good. After all of that we did Personal Study and went for a lesson that fell through sadly. Then we got some treats for Miesha and then came back and did Companionship Study. Afterwards we went for a lesson that sadly fell through as well. Then afterwards we went back to our apartment and did some Daily Contacting and ended the day.

Friday we went to the Food Pantry and did service there. Afterwards we saw someone at CVS and talked with them for a little bit. Afterwards we did a few things and came back to the Apartment and finished studies. Then we did Weekly Planning and only got part of it done. After that we had a few lessons that sadly fell through. So we stopped by Betsy again and talked more on a few things that she wanted to talk about and got more information that helps us out a lot. Then afterwards we dropped by Miesha's and gave her the treats we promised and helped her move a few things out. And then we came home and had dinner.

Saturday we had a crazy storm in the morning. We lived, so that's good. During that we did studies and had Calls to do. After all of that we drove up to Aberdeen for some lessons. Sadly a lot of the stuff fell through, but we were able to do some Daily Contacting. And we were also to get a hold of Keondrick which was great. He was glad to see us. After we chatted with him for a little bit we came back home and finished some studies and finished Weekly Planning. And we ended the day from there.

Sunday we went to Branch Council and that was pretty good. We didn't have anyone at Church again, it's rough. But after Church we had a Correlation Meeting with someone in the Elders Quorum Presidency. Then after that we came home and did studies and got a few things that we needed to do, and that was good. A little rough in one case, but it's just apart of the work we have to face. Then we saw Betsy and talked with her for a while. Then after that we came home and had Call Ins with our Zone Leaders and then had dinner.

It sucks having a lot of things fall through and when you don't understand why. There are a lot of trials that we face that we don't understand why they happen until later in life. It's hard for me to live it, but I'm trying to be the best I can be and know that things happen for a reason. But I pray that things will turn up and things will start picking up. I love y'all!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 76: 2020 Vision!

Hello one and all! Welcome to another week, and to a new year! I now have 2020 vision now!...... Don't shoot me plz. But anyways! This week was pretty long, but it was pretty good in a lot of cases also! Let's get into it!

Monday Elder Judd did a lot of packing. Sister Shields took us to Umis and we had some good Hibachi, and the Starkville Sisters were there also! That was pretty cool. Then we came back and he finished packing. After P-Day the Browns took us to go eat at a place called No Way Jose. Then afterwards we saw Neely and Betsy and he said goodbye to them. Then we came back home and ended the day!

Tuesday we got up early and got things ready. Then we drove all the way up to Memphis for Transfers. I got to see Brother Roswell from Holly Springs again which was awesome. Always glad to see him. Then I picked up Elder Rich and said goodbye to Elder Judd and we left with the New Albany Elders and dropped them off first at New Albany. And then we drove all the way to West Point. He unpacked and then we did planning and studies. Afterwards we did some shopping and got some things for the week and then we came in for the night and had dinner!

Wednesday was the start of 2020! We did studies and got things ready for the day. We were supposed to have a lesson but it fell through, so we contacted around that person's house. And then afterwards we had another lesson which was decent. Then we dipped out and came back to our apartment and reported for a little bit. Then after that we saw Neely and Cole and we talked with them for a little bit. Got to know what Cole was doing for his work which was pretty cool. Then afterwards we had a good lesson with Miesha and talk to her about a few things. After that we came home and had dinner!

Thursday we did planning and studies and Sister Shields called and took us out to lunch at Touch of Home and that was pretty good. Afterwards we did a few things and the rain started coming on and off. We were supposed to have a lesson but that fell through, then we saw someone around the corner and talked with him for a little bit. Then afterwards we decided to see someone at CVS and she was there and we had a really good discussion with her and cleared a lot of misconceptions up which was awesome. Then the rain got worse. Then we left and did some Daily Contacting and then had a lesson with someone about the Plan of Salvation, rain still is bad at this point. We saw John, almost died trying to get to his door, but I stood my ground. Talked with him for a little bit and then tried someone else, no luck, so we came back in for the night.

Friday we did some studies and got a text from a less active wanting us to stop by, so we went by and talked to them what they wanted to talk about. Then afterwards we went to the Food pantry and did stuff there for a little bit. Afterwards we went to Staffords and ate there for a little bit. Then we came back to the apartment real quick and then we had a lesson with Dion. Afterwards we were supposed to have a lesson but that fell through, so then we stopped by Dennis and visited him for a little bit. Afterwards we came back and did Weekly Planning and then after that we did Companionship Study. Then we saw John and talked with him for a little bit. Then we did a few other things and then came in for the night.

Saturday we planned out for the day and then I did studies and then had my ZLC Call which was good. After that we had lunch and got a few things for Cookies and then made some cookies. A lesson fell through so we finished up the cookies. We did a few things and then we went up to Aberdeen and contacted and went finding. We were blessed to find 2 people which was awesome. After that we finished anything else up there and then went back to West Point where we saw Betsy and talked with her for a while and then came in for the night.

Sunday we sadly didn't have anyone at Church. After Church Elder Rich got an area blessing and then we headed back to the apartment. We did studies and got things ready for the day. Afterwards we contacted a lot of people and talked to them about a lot of things. We saw Betsy, Scott, Dennis's Mom, and we did some contacting over the phone. After all of that we came back to our apartment and ended the day with some Call Ins with our Zone Leaders!

I'm grateful for the opportunity I have to still be here in West Point and continue to serve. I'm excited for what this year is to bring and I'm excited to see more miracles! Hope y'all are doing well and I love each of you!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 75: Christmas Miracles and Tornado Threats!

Hello one and all! I hope each of you had a good week! This week was full of different adventures! It was definitely awesome! Let's get into it!

Monday we did studies and prepared for the day. After that we went to the store and got a few things for the day and contacted a little bit. Then we went on a baking spree for most of the day making cookies and that was a lot of fun. Then afterwards we contacted people and did a few things. I don't remember much but it happened. Hahaha

Tuesday was Christmas Eve and we had a lot of things going on! We did our studies and got ready for the day. After that we drove to Tupelo and had Interviews with President Hansen! It was a really good discussion I had with him! And then afterwards we drove all the way down to Starkville for District Council and had a really good discussion with them! Then after that we went caroling as a District and had an amazing time with them! Afterwards we drove back to West Point and visited a few other people and then came home for the day!

Wednesday was Christmas! We prepared for the day, had a great time at a members house and had lunch with them, and then came home and called our families for a while! Then after P-Day ended we visited some other people and came back home and ended the day!

Thursday we did studies and all that good stuff. Then we posted on Facebook and that was really good. Afterwards we went up to Houston and did a few things, sadly not too much success, but we had a little. Then we came back and sadly a lesson fell through. So after that we visited Neely and Betsy and chatted with them for a little bit. Then we ended the day there.

Friday we started off the day driving up to Okolona and started exchanges with the Zone Leaders! I was here in West Point with Elder Jorgensen. We planned for the day and then we went to the Food Pantry and did some service there for a little. After that we got called for lunch by Sister Shields, and then she took us to a Hibachi place and that was super cool. Then we came back and started finding. And then we proceeded to find 6 people! It was crazy! Elder Jorgensen took a call in the middle of it. But it was a lot of miracles! Then we had a really good lesson with someone else about the Plan of Salvation. After that we visited Neely and Betsy and had a pretty interesting conversation with them! Then we came home and ended the day!

Saturday we got ready for the day and drove up to Okolona and ended exchanges. Then we came back and I had ZLC and that was a lot of stuff. Then we did studies and headed out for a lesson. The lesson sadly fell through but we found 2 new people out of that which was awesome! Then we went to Taco Bell and reported and contacted people. Then we came back and did some Weekly Planning and then afterwards we tried visiting some people and it fell through, so we went to go get gas and while we were getting it we had to get our receipt inside, and we meet someone that had lost contact with missionaries and we got her number! It was amazing! Also during the day someone reached out to us on Facebook who was interested as well! It was a day full of miracles as well! Then we came back home and had Calls Ins and we got transfer news! Elder Judd will be going to Lonoke! And I will be picking up Elder Rich, my good Ole MTC Companion! It was definitely a surprise!

Sunday we sadly didn't have anyone at Church. After Church we went home and did our studies. Then we visited Jimmy for a little bit, and then we were on our way to have a lesson but we were graced by Tornado Sirens. Then we called our Branch President and asked about what was going on. And it turns out a tornado threatening storm was headed to West Point, so we booked it clear cross town and stayed at his house till it was clear. After that we visited a few other people that Elder Judd wanted to say bye to and then we came in for the night and had Call Ins!

I'm thankful for this season and for all the many blessing I've seen and I hope to see a lot more! I'm excited for a new adventure with Elder Rich and I'm excited to know that I have 7 more months left! I'm almost there! I love each of you!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 74: Christmas Prep and Service!

Hello one and all! Merry Christmas!! I hope your day has been amazing! This week we've been busy busy. And I hope you have had a wonderful Christmas and got to do a lot of great things. Let's get into it!

Monday we just ran it like a normal missionary work day. We did our studies and got things ready and we went out and tried contacting a few people. We got a hold of one and we did some technology service for them and they were really appreciative for it. Afterwards we went to the store, contacted a little bit and then made some cookies for our Mission President and ended the day there.

Tuesday we got up really early and got into our suits and got on the road around like 6:15AM. We drove all the way to New Albany where we picked up 3 Elders, and then we drove all the way up to Bartlett to have our Mission Christmas Social! It was really nice to see some missionaries and to have a great time. I got gripped during Dirty Santa and I got a onesie, but then someone stole it and then I couldn't get it back. So I only got candy, which I'm ok with. Then after the social we drove 3 hours back to West Point, dropping off New Albany in the process. It was a long day with a lot of driving.

Wednesday we did our studies and then got ready for the day. We had a few things planned but all of it got like flipped around in 3 different levels but something did come up and we ended up doing service for someone for about 2 hours and that was good. Afterwards we had 3 lessons planned, sadly 2 of them both fell through but the 3 one was with Miesha and it was awesome! It's always a good meeting with her, she always learns a lot and it's super cool! After that lesson we came in for the night.

Thursday we did our usual routine and got a few things ready for the day. Then we went to the Animal Shelter and did some service for a little bit. After that we came back to our apartment and did some Facebook posting and whatnot and then we got picked up for dinner with the Shields and that was good. Afterwards we came back and had a few things fall through so we did some other misc. Stuff and then came in for the night!

Friday we had service at the Food Pantry as usual and we had a lot of boxes this time and that was nice. Then we came back and then started our Weekly Planning and that was good, got things done with that. Then afterwards we got things ready and we went up to Okolona and tried to go visit people. And we were able to get a hold of one person, and 2 others we couldn't. And then we tried another person, didn't work. And then we got a hold of someone else and had a really good discussion with her and we watched The Christ Child with her and it was really good. And afterwards we came back and ended the day.

Saturday we got up a little early and got into our service clothes and we hit the road up to Tupelo. We got picked up by the Zone Leaders and we did some service prior but us, Starkville, and Tupelo drove to a town called Guntown for some Tornado Relief. There was a bad storm that happened and a tornado went through it so the Zone came together and helped out with the cleanup. We did that for most of the day. And then after we came back to Tupelo and had a amazing District Council. It was one of the best. And then afterwards we came back and did studies and ended the day there.

Sunday we sadly didn't have anyone at Church, but it was the Christmas Program, and it was really good. And then afterwards we went back to our apartment and did studies. After that we went finding for awhile, and we found 1 person which was pretty good. And then afterwards we visited Scott for a while and had a really good conversation with him and his family. So that was super good. Then we came home and had dinner.

This Christmas I've learned a lot about Jesus Christ and what He can do for us personally. And I'm thankful for it and what he has done for me. I pray that we can continue to grow in the Gospel and find Joy in Him always. I love y'all so much and have a Merry Merry Christmas!!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!

Week 73: Snow and Zone Conference!

Hello one and all! This will be my first email I will send out today! I will send out my next weekly here shortly, but, this week was a little bumpy, but we had some good things happen too. Let's get into it!

Monday I got my haircut and we did our P-Day things. Afterwards we were supposed to have a lesson but it sadly fell through. That was pretty much the Monday, not much actually did happen.

Tuesday we did studies and got a few things ready for the day. Then we went out and visited a good bit of people. We talked to Betsy a little and then we did some contacting. We tried finding a little but it didn't work. So after that we saw Jimmy and watched The Christ Child with him and that was super good. Afterward we stopped by Scott and visited with him for a while and it was really good. He loves having us come by. And then afterwards we went to Taco Bell where it started to snow!! And it snowed actually pretty decently for a little bit! It was awesome! Then we came home.

Wednesday we had Zone Conference up in Tupelo and that was a really good Conference. We talked a lot about the importance of Obedience and about focusing on what's happening today and taking it one by one. Then after Zone Conference we went back and had a really good lesson with Miesha and talked about struggles and made some goals with her, it was a really good discussion with her. Then after we came back home for the day.

Thursday we did our studies and all that good stuff and then we went out to do some service for someone and we raked a good chunk of leaves up which was pretty nice. And then afterwards we changed and went to a lesson and that sadly fell through. And then we went out to try a few other things that we wanted to give a shot with but it didn't work either so we just ended the day.

Friday we were supposed to have a lesson with Vernita but that fell through, but she said she'd be at Church. Then we went to the Food Pantry and did some service for a little bit. Then we came back and finished up studies for a little bit. And we did some contacting and went to go have a lesson which sadly fell through. So we came back and made some treats for the Branch Christmas Party that was going on that night. Then we went to it and had a really good time there. Got to take photos with Santa (sadly I don't have them yet). And then we helped clean up and went home.

Saturday was very disappointing. We did our Weekly Planning and got that done pretty nicely. But then we went up to Aberdeen and met up with some people to pick up a bike for a missionary. And then we had hopes to see a lot of people in Aberdeen.... But in the process literally everything fell through and we ended up dropping more people in the process. It was very sad and we were really bummed about it. One of which got anti-ed so that sucked a lot. Then we just came home and had dinner and ended the day. We also had to move Call Ins due to some things that came up.

Sunday we had Vernita at Church which was exciting! Then after church we went home and did our studies for a little bit and then we went out and did some finding. We found 1 person in one area which was pretty cool. He is the dad of someone that we are teaching and he's really nice. And then afterwards we walked around some more and went to this one place and went finding some more and we ended up finding another person which was awesome. Then we finished up and ended the day there and had Call Ins with Starkville!

We had our difficult times, but it was a pretty good week overall in some cases. Bumpy, very, but still got things done. I'm thankful for the small blessings we have and I'm excited to see what else is coming! Have a great week!

May God be with you all, and know that I am here. I love you all!
